| As well as the Mare Monte Beach there is also Escape beach, about a ten minute drive from the villa on the road into Kyrenia. Here there is a bar/restaurant and a diving school where you can book try dives or diving trips. A little further away on the road to Esentepe is a lovely beach called Turtle Beach, which as its name suggests is a conservation area for turtles during their nesting season. Even further down the coast, up in the mountains is Kantara Castle and the views from here (shown middle below) are spectacular and it is well worth the drive. Of all the castles along the coast of Northern Cyprus however, St Hilarion Castle is probably the best preserved and it only takes about 20 minutes to reach by car from the villa. If castles and beaches are not your thing and you are a bit more daring you can book a tandem paragliding trip from the mountainside behind St Hilarion Castle |
